Faith Women of the ELCA

The Faith Women of the ELCA is a community of women, gathered for the purpose of growing in faith and discipleship. To this end, we strive to provide groups and programs that will inspire all the women of Faith Lutheran Church to participate whenever and as often as possible. As a congregational unit of The Women of the ELCA we commit ourselves to the Purpose of this organization.

The Purpose Statement

As a community of women
created in the image of God,
called to discipleship in Jesus Christ,
and empowered by the Holy Spirit,
we commit ourselves to
grow in faith,
affirm our gifts,
support one another in our callings,
engage in ministry and action, and
promote healing and wholeness
in the church, the society,
and the world.

Unit Events

January Unit Meeting will provide fellowship, learning and a business meeting. The 2001 meeting was a Soup & Salad Supper with a program about our Church Library. The Business Meeting is to present annual reports, budget and mission plans for the New Year and other general business.

Spring Unit Meeting is Educational and includes fellowship with women outside our local unit. In 2001, we invited the units from Grace, Centerburg & Zion, Jelloway for a Covered Dish Dinner. Our program was a Skit about Katie's Endowment Fund.

In September, we begin our new programs with a Fall Tea. The fellowship (and food) is great and is a wonderful time to get acquainted or renew friendships. A short business meeting is held to elect officers for the Board.

In December, a Christmas Luncheon is held. Along with fellowship, a short business meeting and bible study is provided.

Synod and Conference Events

Central Ohio Conference Spring Gathering is an annual event held each spring.

Southern Ohio Synod Convention is a biennial event held in September.

Women's Retreat at Lutheran Memorial Camp is held each October.
